Those who love spending time on the water this time of year should know that the low water levels can lead to some dangerous conditions, even in your favourite spots.

"We're out and about in lakes right now," shared Game Warden, Lindsey Leko, "and water levels are really low."

He added that low water levels can lead to reefs and rocks becoming shallow enough to strike with your boat.

"No matter where you go fishing especially on a boat, it's a new lake out there with a new structure or rocks so anglers and boater are both going to have to really cautious where they drive and what they do in the next couple months until we get some significant moisture to bring up our levels."

"The Rafferty and Alameda systems are probably the lowest I've ever seen them. Be cautious out there."
