MADD Canada will be visiting Estevan on Thursday. They will be holding an open house presentation at the Salvation Army. Their goal is to educate Estevan about impaired driving, with the potential of having more involvement in the community.

"MADD Canada's mission is to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crimes," says Michelle Okere, MADD Regional Manager for Saskatchewan. "We definitely see interest in getting involved."

MADD wants to be more present in the community and hopefully partner more with the Weyburn Police on check stops, presentations at schools and awareness fundraisers.

MADD is currently holding their Red Ribbon Project, which is an awareness campaign around the holiday season. Wearing a ribbon shows your support and promise to not drink and drive.

"We actually train victim services volunteers to provide victim support to those who have lost loved ones, and that's really huge and very important in the smaller communities."

MADD invites people to come out and get involved in the fight to end impaired driving and to help change the culture around drinking and driving.

The open house starts at 6:00 p. m. Thursday, November 30th.
