MADD Estevan is starting their Red Ribbon Launch today. Connie Hagel with MADD Estevan explains, "You will be seeing a few boxes that have red ribbons and vehicle decals in them, so people donate something and can take a red ribbon. By doing that it's their promise that they are going to drive sober or find a sober ride home. You will probably see us at a few Bruins games and a few high visibility police check stops, letting the people know we are out there. We have the Red Ribbon Launch from November 1 to January 1, people put them on their vehicles. We do a lot of high visibility check stops with the Police. We try to be with them and thanking the public by saying here's a reward for driving home safe."

"We are going to start a SADD [students against drunk driving] chapter hopefully in the schools. We are just trying to get MADD off the ground then we will approach the schools. There is a bus that goes around, it's not in Saskatchewan yet, but I'm hoping once that bus comes it will be able to come to Estevan. The bus is a simulation that shows kids what it's like to drive drunk. We are trying to do a bunch of things and get the community going on that with different things."

Hagel shares how the public can follow MADD Estevan, "We're on the MADD Canada website, you can follow MADD Estevan to see what we are doing. If anyone is interested in volunteering or needs to contact me they can email me at maddestevan@gmail.com."

Hagel adds that she is excited, "The more the community knows maybe we can prevent senseless acts that happen with impaired driving. It's not just drunk driving, it's impaired driving as well. Be aware and find a safe ride home to your family."
