During the night shift on October 15th, the Estevan Police Service responded to a report that a vehicle tire had been slashed. According to the Media Release, members attended to the scene and changed the tire for the complainant so they could drive the vehicle.

Estevan Police Chief, Paul Ladouceur says that goes to show the pride their members have in their community.

"It just speaks to the type of members we have working at this organization and I think they often don't get the true credit they deserve. We have phenomenal men and women that work in this organization who certainly don't mind going the extra mile. It certainly goes beyond what their expectations are as police officers but they're part of this community and they're there to help in any way. And that may drift from the regular, day to day job of a police officer."

"When I first came to this community, one of the things I said was that I enjoyed working and policing in a smaller community because there is that connection and that community based flavour to policing. Nothing is more evident when your police attend to an incident like this and actually take time to assist that driver by changing their tire for them."

"Kudos to them, couldn't be more proud. It's always nice when we see our members do those types of things."

The matter of the slashed tire is still under investigation.
