Just because the leaves are falling, it doesn't mean that your time in the park needs to come to an end.

"It's never really closed," explained Joan Adams, Parks Manager at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. "We still have campers in the campground. Lynwood Campground has 30 electrical sites and has been opened for the month of September. It's still somewhat open, the only thing is that we are in the process of blowing the water lines because they are just summer lines. You can still get water in the park but right in the campground, it will be shut off."

"As soon as that is done, then our staff, the ones that we still have working, will get out and focus on the back country to prepare the ski trails and the snowmobile trials and the snowshoe trails for the winter recreation. So we will be all ready when the snow comes."

"We're never really closed here but after Labour Day, some on the summer businesses are closed for the season. Like most of the businesses, like miniature golf, those sorts of things are closed but the attraction right now in the park, I would say, is the hiking and the biking trails. It's just absolutely beautiful here."

She adds that this summer was very successful.

"We just had such a great year. The weather cooperated and we had basically two months of pure sun and 30 degree weather so perfect camping weather. The lake was busy. We had a really good summer here. And the fall has been really nice too."

"Always during the July Long and the August Long Weekend, we are just packed to overflowing so those would be our best two weekends but honestly, it was such beautiful weather, most of the weekends in July and August we were into overflow. There were lots of people that wanted to come out camping ans the weather was beautiful."

"We're continually doing things and upgrading things in the park. No big projects like last year with the new beach change house."
