The young man at the center of a local homicide investigation has been released from custody.

Kegan Muxlow, 24, was released on bail in a Regina courtroom yesterday. His bail was set at $10,000 and he was released on several conditions.

Muxlow is facing a second-degree murder charge after the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Nathan Hutt after a home invasion allegedly orchestrated by Hutt, William McLeod, and Dominick Hawkes on January 4. Muxlow is also facing an attempted murder charge for an incident from earlier that evening.

Muxlow's next court appearance is March 12 in Weyburn.

Hawkes entered a not guilty plea in Weyburn Provincial Court yesterday and a date was set for his preliminary hearing on November 5 in Weyburn. McLeod's next court appearance will be on March 12 in Weyburn. Both men are facing charges of break and enter and committing assault, wearing a disguise during the commission of an offense, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offense, and possession of a firearm without a valid license. Hawkes is also charged with possession of cocaine.
