The saga of Travis Patron, founder and head of the Canadian Nationalist Party, has been an increasingly strange one over the past few years. It took another strange turn earlier this week as he was arrested at the Redvers Legion for the second time in the span of ten days.

Carlyle RCMP confirmed they arrested Patron on March 19 at the Legion and charged him with mischief and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking. He was again arrested on March 28 at the same location. He is presumed innocent.

"He was arrested for an occurrence that happened in the same building in the town of Redvers," said RCMP Sergeant Geoff Stringfellow. "On that occurrence, he was arrested for breaking and entering and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions. So he was remanded in custody, his first court appearance is tomorrow, Thursday."

Though the Redvers Legion declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, they did confirm they'd received a letter from Patron. A similar letter had been sent to Redvers Town Council. The gist of the letter, according to both parties, was that Patron was trying to seize the Legion.

"We've had some investigations started and a file started with the Town of Redvers based on those letters," said Stringfellow. He added Patron's appearance will be via phone in Estevan as he is in custody in Carlyle.

This is far from the only legal trouble facing Patron at the moment. Patron will be in court on April 23 to answer charges of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, and breach of probation stemming from an incident in Regina in 2019. He will also be in court on April 14 to answer charges of willful promotion of hate. He is presumed innocent.

The promotion of hate charges come from a complaint by the Canadian Anti-Hate Network about an allegedly Anti-Semitic video on YouTube entitled "Beware the Parasitic Tribe" which featured Patron.

In 2019, Patron ran for federal office in the Souris-Moose Mountain riding. He finished with 168 of 41,550 votes.
