The price of oil is on the rise again, and that means that oilfield companies throughout Southeast Saskatchewan are preparing for an increase in sales and business.

John Andrews, General Manager for Support Operations for Canyon Technical Services, shared what he sees in the region.

"In the investment community, the market itself, and just the activity of heavy equipment going up and down the roads, there are some positive signs that we haven't seen in the past year. It's looking good."

He also revealed what the year ahead looks like for themselves, and their optimism for the year ahead.

"We have a couple of major customers lined up for the first quarter of the year, and we'll have activity happening in the second as well. It looks like the worst is behind us, and we're looking forward to 2017."

He added that they, among many other companies in the area, are hiring again.

"We're have a couple of trucks that we're trying to man up, so we're looking at establishing a couple more crews."
