The City Police were called out for a number of things last night, but one man found out the reasons as to why you do not drive impaired last night.

Sgt. Evan Handley, "Around 8:30 pm last night members stopped a vehicle on Souris Avenue and Valley Street. And as a result, an individual was arrested for impaired driving, brought back to the station to provide 2 breath samples over .08. He was charged with driving over .08 as well, he will appear in court in May to answer to those charges. His vehicle was impounded and his license suspended indefinitely."

"Members did checks on judicial release and all were home last night."

It is tax season and the time of year where scams are on the rise. The Estevan Police received a call about one of those fraudulent schemes. "Members also received a report of a fraud at the beginning of the shift, that matter is still under investigation. Where someone says you won a prize and you need to send money to claim the prize. So Police just want to remind the public to not give any personal or financial information over the phone or email to people that you do not know."
