After a long shutdown due to COVID-19 and weeks more of being closed due to an absence of movies to actually show, the Orpheum Theatre in Estevan will open back up to the public next week. They announced today that, as of next Friday, they were getting back to screening the latest hit movies.

"The Orpheum Theatre returns with Hot Buttered Popcorn and the action thriller UNHINGED starring Russel Crowe on Friday, September 11!" they wrote in a press release. "We have missed you!  All of us at the Orpheum Theatre are so excited to re-open and fire up the projector. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!"

In accordance with guidelines from the province, the theatre will look a little different upon its reopening. They will only be open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays at first. They recommend checking their website or their social media, or calling 306-634-2321 for showtimes.

"There is limited seating so come early – doors will open 30 minutes prior to showtime," the announcement continued. "We will be taking many precautionary measures to ensure your safety and comfort. See you at the movies soon!"

The Orpheum Theatre first closed down to COVID-19 in March this year. Under provincial guidelines, they were allowed to reopen in early July, but decided to stay closed through July and August because there were no movies being released to theatres at that time.
