One of the premier events of the year for residents of the Energy City is nearly set to launch.

The second annual Savour the Southeast is set to go for Saturday evening, and it looks to be a doozy.

That said, with all the alcoholic drinks that will be available to taste during the occasion, it will be important to prepare an alternate way home. Police Chief Paul Ladouceur plans to ensure just that.

"We will be out and about, without a doubt. I've been there myself and it's a great time. It's just a matter that if you plan on drinking, plan on a safe ride home. It's that simple."

"We've got lots of cabs in the city, friends that can be designated drivers, and it's not too far of a distance from one end of the city to the other to walk so there's really no excuse to drink and drive," he expressed.
