Crime was being fought to begin the week, as members of the Estevan Police Service were out in the Energy City performing their job.

Sergeant Kevin Reed explained what happened.

"Sunday evening into Monday morning there was a break-and-enter into a local business in the downtown area. It appears that they broke through the back wall, and there was an undisclosed amount of cash taken."

"If anybody in the downtown core noticed any suspicious activity Sunday night or early Monday morning, we'd like them to report it to the police," he added.

Reed said that the matter is still under investigation.
