The St Joseph's Hospital is about to reach a major milestone.

“We are in the planning stages to recognize the 80th anniversary of St. Joseph's Hospital," shared Greg Hoffort with the St. Joseph's Hospital. "It’s been 80 years since the Sisters of St. Joseph has moved to Estevan to fill the need of building a hospital in Estevan. At that time there was no hospital as the previous one had burned down and there weren’t funds to build a hospital."

"The sisters were asked to move from Ontario to Estevan, to build and manage a new hospital. That was 80 years ago on November 26 this year."

"We are planning a day to celebrate, so it looks like we’ll start the day with a pancake breakfast, then we will have a mass in our chapel, will have some things specifically for the staff to recognize them and from 2 pm to 4 pm we will have an open house. The staff will also be providing tours for the public of the hospital. Our ladies auxiliary will be hosting tea as they will also be celebrating their 80th anniversary at that time. They’ve been with us for 80 years. That is some of the things we will be doing that day to celebrate.”
