Thefts have been on the radar for the Estevan Police Service in the past week, both present and from the past.

On Tuesday, two people were arrested on Highway 39 near Macoun.

"The EPS was investigating a theft of a couple of electronic devices that was reported to us, and were located by our partners in the RCMP out in the rural area," shared Sergeant Kevin Reed.

"They arrested them and brought them back in, they were charged and scheduled for court in July."

Police were also brought to reopen a cold case of theft.

"There was a report of oilfield equipment, that was reported stolen a couple of years ago. It's been located here in Estevan, and the matter is still under investigation. There's no charges, at this point, laid."

The item, a mud motor, was originally taken in Carlyle.
