UPDATE: The man charged with assault from the incident Wednesday night appeared in court Thursday morning.

"(He was) remanded for next Monday's court appearance, for a show cause or bail hearing," shared Sergeant Kevin Reed with the Estevan Police Service.

Reed added that the home owner in the evening's noise complaint had been warned of their actions, and otherwise the evening turned out to be tame.

Officers on the night shift Wednesday evening had to lay charges for an assault.

They were dispatched to the West Valley Edge are after receiving a 911 call of a female in distress. Investigation led to a 38 year old male from Estevan, formerly of Saskatoon, facing charges of assault and failing to comply with recognizance. He was lodged in cells until sober and appears in court later on Thursday. In addition, a 27 year old female has a charge of assault stemming from the incident, and she has a court date in November.

Other items attended to over the night shift included a noise complaint on Nicholson road, and an alarm at a financial institute in town. However, all was found secure.
