With the Town of Lampman declaring a state of emergency due to all the recent rainfall creating rivers in the streets, the provincial government is stepping in to lend a helping hand.

The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program assists residents, communities and small business owners cover damage or loss to uninsurable, essential property due to natural disasters. Lampman and Alameda have, since the storm, been designated as eligible for assistance, and are hosting recovery centers in the two locations.

This enables the staff to talk with people in the community that have been affected by the severe weather, and provide advice and information on starting claims and more.

The Flood Recovery Center in Lampman will be located at the Town Office on Thursday from 10-4, and on Friday at the Alameda Town Office from 9-12.
