Another 3000 people are now calling Saskatchewan home according to the latest figures released by the provincial government.

Statistics Canada figures show a total of 11,280 people have moved here over the course of the last year.

Stats are revised every five years as information is verified but the report says Saskatchewan’s population has grown in every quarter for the past 49 consecutive quarters.

However, While the population keeps going upwards, so does the number of people leaving the province to move elsewhere in Canada.

8,500 people left the province in the second quarter of 2018, compared to only 5,700 who moved into Saskatchewan. A loss of around 2,800 people – the largest net loss since 2005.

Saskatchewan has lost more people to inter-provincial migration than they've gained every quarter since 2013.
