Following a quieter than average weekend that saw only a couple impaired drivers among numerous checkstops, the Estevan Police Service finished the Thanksgiving holiday with a peaceful Monday nightshift.

"As with most of the holidays, people were probably coming home to get ready for work this morning. There wasn't a lot of action going on, we just had a couple complaints that we ended up dealing with, some suspicious vehicles driving around as the kids are out of school. Nothing that required any major attention," shared Sergeant Craig Bird.

During the dayshift on Sunday, officers dealt with a 13 year old female stealing money from a residence. As a result of the investigation she was charged with theft under $5,000 and given a December court appearance.

Members also attended the Brooks road and Petterson Drive area, where they received a small bag of cannabis, turned over by a passersby who had come across it.

Other minor occurrences included mediating the sale of a motor vehicle between two individuals, and attended a false panic alarm at a local business.
