The Radiothon for Life is celebrating its 8th annual year, helping raise funds for the St. Joseph's Hospital. With over 104 thousand raised last year, and a new Foundations Director, this year is going to be exciting.

Nick Yakimchuk Golden West Radio Station Manager, "Well, once again we are really excited to be partnering with the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. Not only do we have great people in our building whose, families, either work there, or our community takes part in treatment out there. Its a big deal for us to broadcast their for 12 hours and support this community as we've always done for the past several years. So on behalf of CJ1150 and SUN102 were super excited, we've changed the date this year it's not in April it's May 1st. Listen in and donate when you can, because its a great cause for the community."

Yakimchuk on working with the new St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation Director, "Breanne has been working with us, and everything is really positive to help us raise funds for the hospital this year."

He goes on to describe the impact that the Radiothon has on the community, "I think when we look back at the funds we've helped raise over the years, we're not looking at the count, but how impactful it has been for the community. How Estevan and Southeast Saskatchewan has come together to raise the funds. We're super excited as we've done it for several years now and when people come to tell and share their stories, it helps the residents of the Southeast hear about the impact that this hospital has. Where do you get the service like that around here, you have to travel for several hours. SO how important is the hospital in our community, it's very important. And I think its very important for everyone to donate."

"Schools get together and do fundraisers for it too, and that's fantastic, we love it. So get ready for the Radiothon for Life on May 1st."

Everyone you know in the Southeast corner has been impacted by the St. Joseph's Hospital, whether it was a family member receiving treatment or a friends baby delivered. Or maybe you have been helped through the hospital yourself. The hospital provides 375 cancer treatments, 26,500 ER treatments, delivers 300 babies, performs 850 scopes, and over 450 surgeries. It truly is a benefit to our community.
