The recent rains have put a bit of a damper on work at the site of the old Civic Auditorium.

"We're delayed right now with the rain," explained Rod March, Estevan's Parks and Facilities Manager. "So we shut down today because of the amount of rain we had and the amount of rain that we're expecting."

"This section of the project now is bringing in the clay to lift that elevation up. We're bringing in approximately 3000 yards of clay from down in that year. And with this rain, we didn't want any more of a mess than what we have."

He added that the clay comes from the City yard and with the soft roads and the mud, they don't want to damage any roads.

"Silverado, the contractor is away for the weekend. They'll be back again Monday and hopefully, the weather will cooperate."

"We have provisions within the timeline for this, Hopefully, the rain doesn't stick around too long but it shouldn't result in any delays."
