The Estevan RCMP are advising drivers to take it easy as a potential storm is heading our way.

"The biggest thing is plan ahead," shared Cpl. Craig Park with the Estevan RCMP. "Plan on where you're going. If you don't have to be on the highway, obviously it's best to stay at home. But if it is necessary, make sure you have the appropriate clothing. Let people know your plans, where you're travelling, expected time of arrival, those sorts of things."

He mentioned that an emergency kit is also a valuable item to have in your vehicle at all times.

"Nobody plans to be stuck in a storm but it's best to plan for the worst and hope for the best."

He added that we have been fortunate this year that we haven't seen a lot of this type of weather.

"Just adjust your driving accordingly. When the visibility starts to go down, it's best to drop your speed."
