A trio of vehicle fires and some vehicle thefts have been on the radar for the RCMP this week.

Two of the fires can be quickly dismissed, with one being farming related and the other a wiring issue. However, that leaves the third fire, and a recently stolen truck from Bienfait.

"A burnt out vehicle was located just off the bypass (on Monday morning) near the new Co-op that's being built. We were able to identify the vehicle as belonging to an owner out of Regina, and we did confirm that the vehicle was reported stolen that morning," shared Corporal Craig Park.

"We're continuing to investigate, and we do have some suspects at this time. We also had a report of a stolen vehicle from the Bienfait area, which we believe is related. We're continuing to investigate that file as well."

He also pointed out some of the common reasons that someone would steal a vehicle and then light it ablaze.

"Commonly we see people trying to cover up evidence, that being the reason they burn the vehicles. It's not uncommon."

Park reminds motorists to always take their keys with them when they exit the vehicle. Otherwise, it's one of the easiest ways it can be stolen.
