The Saskatchewan RCMP will be out on the highways this weekend, conducting a High Visibility Enforcement weekend in partnership with SGI. Police, while leaning towards distracted driving this month through enforcement efforts, continue to target the four big offences on Saskatchewan highways: impaired driving, seatbelt use, aggressive driving and distracted driving.

Officers will be setting up stops on high traffic routes, and smaller, less travelled roads throughout the province, including here in southeast Saskatchewan. They will be speaking to motorists and performing general safety checks, ensuring driver sobriety and vehicle standards. There will also be checks to make sure all drivers have up to date licenses and registration.

The RCMP is also reminding motorists to slow to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles.
