One of the highlights of 2017 for the residents of the southeast was the Living Skies Airshow on September 17th at the Estevan Regional Airport.

"That was certainly a highlight of the year for myself as a councilor and as a member of the airport and the airshow planning committee," shared Greg Hoffart, chair of the Estevan Regional Airport Committee. "It was a fine example of what a group of like minded volunteers that just want to get together and do something great for the community, what they can accomplish when they put their mind to it. Job well done to the committee."

He added that the hope it to build off the success of this show into the future.

"I think we really came across something something that was a real hit, and something that we would like to duplicate in the future. At this time, our discussions are is this is something that should happen every year or are we going to wear out the idea if we do it every year, should we do it every second or third year. I think the key is we've learned that we can put on a high caliber show. And we learned that when we do put on a high caliber show, the people will come out to see it and enjoy it."

"It was a pleasure to be involved with everyone in the entire committee and certainly something we can build on in the future. Whether it is likely to happen every year is maybe a bit of a stretch but I think it is something the community can definitely pull off every second year."
