Power outages across southeast Saskatchewan. (Courtesy of SaskPower)eems the frost has contributed to another fire in the Energy City. At around 12:30 pm yesterday afternoon, Estevan Fire and Rescue were called out to a call for an overhead power line tree fire.

"The area has been plagued with that right now," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser.

"One thing we want to remind the public out there is if you do come across a downed power line, please do not approach it. Always assume the power lines are live."

You also need to call 911 right away.

"Once the emergency call has been placed, fire crews will arrive on scene and establish perimeter control to prevent anyone from coming into contact with that. And of course, have SaskPower attend the scene to isolate the power to the line and have the fire department come in and take any action necessary to mitigate any situation that might be arising."
