As the temperatures begin to trend upwards and the roadbeds begin to thaw, RMs across the province are examining their road bans and reinstating them as necessary.

The RM of Maryfield, however, isn't worried yet.

"We don't have any road bans on yet. We opt out of the highways, and then we can apply them as needed," said Reeve Cameron Thompson, "It's all weather dependent. If it starts getting wet and muddy, we'll put them on then."

He added the cooler temperatures expected for the next few days could extend their lack of road bans for at least another week.

It's a very similar story in the RM of Browning as well, according to Administrator Greg Wallin.

"We don't have any road bans on, other than the 605, which is at 5500 kilograms. We built that road a couple years ago, and were going to have it paved last year but it never got done, so we have to keep the heavy traffic off of it," he said.

As for the rest of them? "If it rains. Right now it's dry, I think we'll mostly be able to keep up. All we do is monitor day by day and if we get some bad spots then we have to ban the odd road. But so far, we haven't put anything on."
