Road work seems to be a constant in the summer months and Estevan is no different. There are a few projects that the City of Estevan is currently working on.

"Today on Dieppe, we are just finishing up back-filling the hole," explained Norm Mack, City's Roads and Drainage Manager. "Tomorrow, contractors will be coming in and bringing the hole and trench up to level and preparing it for cement curbs and sidewalks. We'll allow that to cure for a few days or a week or so. At that time, a paving crew will come in. So we foresee another week and a half of construction on Dieppe."

"At this time Dieppe is still closed and we'll give further notice when it opens."

As well, the work on King Street isn't over yet.

"King Street, starting tomorrow, we will be doing some construction throughout King. We're going to be leveling some manholes and catch-basins and making sure they are all in line. Tomorrow, the construction will consist of spot work construction throughout King Street, so there will be single lane traffic in some areas. We're reminding all motorists to obey all traffic signs."

He added that the milling and repaving of King Street  to Souris Ave will likely begin after the long weekend in August.
