Overall the Salvation Army Food bank has seen a great year so far.

"The food bank is quite busy right now, this year for the first 6 weeks of the new year we're up 25% over the last year," stated Ronza Reynard the Administrative Assistant and Family Services Coordinator.

"We had a very successful Christmas season and our shelves were quite full and now we're starting to see some items going down. As people are looking to do any kind of donations they can give us a call here at the office, we'll also be uploading a list on our Facebook page."

"We're able to meet the needs of the people who are coming to the food bank or accessing any of our other services that we offer. We had a great Christmas and so we're able to help the 200 people that have already accessed the food bank. So for this year, I think the highlight is that we're able to continue to help the people when they come to us for assistance," she expressed.

"It doesn't matter how warm or cold it is outside, if you need some help with groceries you're going to find yourself coming down here to have a meeting with me and we'll have a conversation. I don't think the weather plays a big part in people accessing the food bank."

"We're grateful for the community support that we have, whether it's people helping us with our food bank or volunteer with some of the other programs, shopping at our thrift store. Coming up soon we'll be starting on our Community Volunteer Income Tax program," shared Ronza.

"Whatever it is that people are doing to help us out we just really appreciate it, there's just so many different ways that the community helps us."
