Estevan will host a SARSAV (Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers) meeting tonight [Jan.23/19] with the hopes to create a chapter here in the southeast. The meeting will be full of information from Corporal Dale Riffel with the RCMP as well as Dale Hintz, the President of the Parkland Chapter of SARSAV.

The Press Release is as follows:

"Public Information Meetings are being held regarding the start-up of a volunteer SARSAV Search and Rescue Chapter for the South East area of Saskatchewan. Meetings are arranged and hosted by a partnership between the RCMP Search and Rescue Team, SARSAV, Estevan Police Service and Weyburn Police Service.

Meetings are scheduled for:

Estevan - January 23rd at 7:00 PM at the Western Star Inn and Suites

Weyburn - January 24th at 7:00 PM at the City Works Building Classroom-55 – 16th St. NE


A team such as this requires significant community support. All levels of interest are welcome. Please come out and support the development of this needed resource."
