The Southeast College is trying something new and holding a speed networking event here in the energy city. It's being billed as an opportunity to meet with local business leaders and work on their interview and personal presentation skills. Sheena Orait tells us a little bit more about the event.

"The speed networking is actually going to be in conjunction with our annual career connection event which we hold each year for our post-secondary and adult basic education students.

So what we do is have a day workshop for our students that involves some resume writing and interview skills and some breakout sessions with some potential employers.

Speed networking is new for us this year so we're going to try that out and give the students a chance to quickly sell themselves and meet folks from the community in a speed networking profile."

Speed networking gives students  30 seconds to 1 minute to talk with business and community leaders it helps with quick thinking and quick and clear communication skills along with giving students the chance to meet some of Estevan best business leaders.

If you run a business here in town and would like a chance to network with the students the college would be glad to have you.

"We have got some folks lined up but we're always looking for more so if there's anyone from the business community who would be interested in coming to spend an hour with our students and get a taste of the speed networking we would gladly invite anyone from the business community to come over and spend some time with us."

The Speed Networking event takes place March 29th from 11 a.m to 12 p.m
