The Special Olympics hosted a fundraising barbecue at Co-op earlier Friday afternoon.

"The support has been really good, it's been a really good turn out today so far and we're just about half way through but I think we'll still have more people coming," shared Don Cameron a Coach and Volunteer.

"We're hosting the barbecue for Special Olympics to raise money for them to buy equipment and stuff for them. Last we bought a ramp for one of our athletes to bowl. The funds will go to perhaps some uniforms or what we need for equipment."

"I would like to thank who all come out today, I appreciate their coming and helping Special Olympics because we have a good time going bowling and stuff," he stated.

Special Olympics will have a booth set up at city wide registration.
