With warming weather and disappearing snow, it appears that spring may finally be taking root once again.

According to John Paul Cragg, a Regional Meteorologist with Environment Canada, we can expect the pleasant temperatures that we've seen over the past week to simply get better.

"Finally, temperatures have made it to the average mark after being so far below average for the beginning of April. By the end of the month, we are forecasting temperatures that could be even warmer than average for this time of year," he said.

And that switch starts this weekend. A system moving across the province will be bringing some snow and rain to the north, and stronger winds into the southeast. However, temperatures will rocket up to as high as 16 on Saturday and 13 on Sunday.

"It's looking pretty nice for the southeast to start the work week. A little bit of a cool down after this system passes across the province for Monday and Tuesday, before temperatures rebound quite quickly for Wednesday and through to the week next week. There's not much of a threat of precipitation either for the southeast, and it's generally looking to be sunnier for the next seven days as well."

"If you like sunny skies and dry conditions, it's looking like a nice week. If you're looking for precipitation, it doesn't there'll be very much for the next several days," Cragg added.
