Three new doctors are now calling Estevan home.

"We're very excited," shared Executive Director, Greg Hoffart. "We have three new physicians starting in Estevan in October Dr. Cabigon, Dr. Chou, and Dr. Jabeen. All three will be starting in October and adding to the dedicated medical staff we already have."

Hoffart notes that they have gone through a trying time with a lack of physicians.

"It's been tough on the community and it's also been tough on the physicians in Estevan who have been shouldering the burden of doing all they can in the absence of the new physicians. So the arrival of three new physicians in addition to the three who arrived in the spring is certainly welcome news to the community, I hope and just provides that much more access to physicians on a regular basis."

Two of the new physicians have already started with the third starting October 16th.

Hoffart shared that he is encouraged by the number of doctors now practicing in Estevan.

"We have 16 total physicians in Estevan. We have 13 who actively see family patients. That is one of our keys, to provide access to family medical appointments on a regular basis. That has truly been a challenge for the last six months to a year. We're really pleased that we've been able to fill that gap."
