Emergency crews were on scene to a single vehicle rollover near Torquay Monday morning.

"At about 8 o'clock this morning," explained Cpl. Craig Park with the Estevan RCMP, "we were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover between Outram and Torquay on the 18 Highway."

The lone occupant of the vehicle has been transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Regina with serious injuries.

"The road conditions at the time were very icy and were a factor in the rollover."

The highway was closed for emergency crews and while the reconstruction team was on scene but has since been reopened.

"Winter is coming up on us here, slow down and adjust your driving accordingly. We've had some new asphalt around the Estevan area and it seems to be that the moisture is not out of the pavement yet and creates icy conditions."
