Estevan Mayor Gary. St. Onge

The reaction from yesterday's throne speech is beginning to pour in.

Estevan Mayor Gary St. Onge weighed in with his thoughts on what he felt "wasn't an earth shattering speech."

He was happy with the inclusion of 2 things within the speech. One was the proposed Provinical Education property taxes and the other was Municipal Operating Grant.

He noted that he expects the promised of the Municipal Operating Grant to be carried through, because if it isn't it. The municipal government's in the province wouldn't be happy.

When it comes to housing, St. Onge feels there could be more incentives provided for developers. He knows that a lot of people are asking for rent control, but knows that the provincial government won't be going down that road.

He does says housing is starting to make some progress, but it still remains the number one problem in Estevan.
