After a week of well below seasonable temperatures, we're heading into a time of above seasonable temperatures.

"It's a large upper ridge of high pressure that's been pushing over BC," explained Bryan Van Wilgenburg, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

And it's not that uncommon to have such fluctuations in temperatures.

"This time of year, you often have temperatures wings of this nature in the fall. It just happens that it's been very cold for the last month so it's kind of catching people by surprise. The average high temperature is 10oC. But you'll see fluctuations between the teens and the single digits quite frequently in the fall."

However, he isn't expecting any precipitation soon.

"It looks like for southern Saskatchewan, it should be pretty dry for the next few days."
