They say that you know it's hot when you can fry an egg on the hood of your car. However, this time the temperatures are so high that the Souris Valley Theatre is cancelling their much anticipated Saturday show, Pirate Heart.

"The safety of all patrons, volunteers, cast and crew is a priority for the Souris Valley Theatre, a. With the forecast temperatures in the high thirties, and performance center, Frehlick Hall, not being insulated or air conditioned, our only option at this point is to cancel the show," stated the Theatre's Robert Godfrey.

"While cancelling the show is never an easy decision, we have a policy in place that bars us from operating when the temperature inside inside the facility exceeds thirty three degrees. Over the past week or so, we have been lucky enough that, with the use of fans and cooling devices, we could lower the temperature below that threshold. However, with the forecast for  Saturday we just can't take that risk."

They ask that, for those who have already purchased tickets for the show, to visit the box office or give them a call at 461-6869 to arrange a refund, or exchange for another show.

Pirate Heart does run for another full week, so those missing out on Saturday's show will have plenty of opportunity to catch it in more bearable weather.
