Tundra Energy Marketing Limited (TEML) held a fundraising evening on Friday, September 29th which raised money for the Estevan United Way.

"Cooks that Cook was something that was developed here by an employee about nine years ago." Susan Thompson, Senior Administrative Assistant. "So this year was our ninth consecutive year having the event. When you buy a ticket to the event, it gives you the opportunity to sample approximately 70 different dishes that staff, volunteers and our local restaurants cooks for the event. Its like a potluck paradise."

"It's always amazing. It ranges from appetizers, main dishes, sides, desserts and every kind of ethnicity you can imagine."

In addition to the food, they also had a silent and live auctions, several raffles and a 50/50. All together, they raised $41,000 which will be presented to the Estevan United Way at this year's Telethon.

"I think that our company has always had a United Way focus. It's a local chapter, it's something that impact this entire area and so we've always seen the benefit to supporting them and getting involved that way."

She adds that there were 80 TEML staff members who helped put the event together.

"Every year as we think of preparing for putting on this event, it's a daunting task. It's big, it's a lot of work but it's that team effort, all of us coming together to make it happen that causes it to be a success, in addition to our volunteers and our restaurants and the businesses that support it."
