This week is Teachers and Staff Appreciation week in Saskatchewan. It is a time to remember the impact of educators in the lives of families and children.

"I just want to say publicly how much we appreciate the work in each one of our communities, our teachers and the wrap around that we have with SCC's and with parents," said Gwen Keith, Director of Education, Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division.

The separate school division has five schools in their care with 1,312 students in total and over 140 teachers and support staff working in the schools.

"I really want to honour our staff as we, again, continue to celebrate this theme of community that we have and realize that we are growing children as a unified team of people with all kinds of different supports and gifts to make a difference for each and every child, so I want to say thank you," added Keith.

The School Division said school councils are showing appreciation for the teachers and school staff on a school by school basis.

Teacher Appreciation Day and Education week are in October.
