At a little after 6:00 PM Thursday evening, local emergency services attended a motor vehicle accident that took place at the intersection of Souris Avenue and 8th Street.

"The accident is still under investigation. However, we did determine it appears, right now, that one driver had a medical emergency and ended up rear ending another vehicle that was travelling in the same direction. The vehicle in question ended up rolling over and flipping onto it's roof, and sliding a fair ways," shared Sergeant Craig Bird with the Estevan Police Service.

"Estevan Fire and Rescue and Estevan Medical Services were called, and had to extricate the driver of the one vehicle out, and he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. The other driver also went up to the hospital, just for safety precautions, and was checked and released."

He added that the first driver was reported as having non life threatening injuries.

Crews were on the scene for quite awhile afterwards, cleaning up the glass and debris that ended up strewn across the intersection.
