Sasktel customers in the area of 14th Avenue and 7th and 8th Street may have noticed a disruption in service on Friday morning, lasting through most of the day.

"At about 7:45 AM, City Crews were in the process of cleaning snow in the area. One of the vehicles ended up coming in contact with an overhead Sasktel line," shared Constable Warren Morrical with the Estevan Police Service.

From that point on, the road was closed off to traffic while workers labored to make the necessary repairs.

"They're splicing the cables back together, and we anticipate that services will be fully restored by 6:00 PM," said Michelle Englot, the Director of External Communications with Sasktel.

She added that around 100 customers were affected by the incident.

According to City of Estevan EMO Coordinator Helen Fornwald, the route is now open to traffic, but drivers are asked to be cautious, as crews are still working on site to finish the repairs.
