Estevan residents woke up Friday morning to snow and slick roads, and as a result, the Energy City saw a multi vehicle accident in the early hours of the morning.

"It appears that a truck and trailer combo had trouble negotiating the roadway, just because of the icy road conditions, and wasn't able to stop for the stop sign at Perkins and Souris Avenue. Unfortunately it hit another vehicle that was travelling on Souris," shared Sergeant Craig Bird with the Estevan Police Service, adding that only minor injuries, treated on scene, resulted from the incident. Both vehicles required towing from the scene.

"The accident site's been cleaned up, and the access for both Perkins and Souris is open now, so there's no traffic restrictions. We are requesting that people that are travelling in the area take extra care, just because of the early morning snowfall, it just made the roads a little more slippery than they are normally."

If people would drive with extra caution, that would be fantastic," he concluded.
