There's a new total: $29,700!

It's been just over 5 hours into the 2017 United Way Telethon and the donations continue to roll in.

"Everything is going fantastic," explained Christa Morhart, past president of the United Way. "We are on time with the entertainment, the school shave been bringing in great entertainment, singing, dancing, doing some speeches. And they've been bringing money!"

"We are very encouraged by the totals and the hall has been nice and fun with parents coming out to watch the kids and grandkids so we just want to remind people, we have a concession, we have some hot food, some cold food, some snacks so come on down."

Students from local schools including Weldon and Macoun will also be preforming throughout the day.

"We have some young kids coming in to do some duets. Tonight we're going to be looking forward to the belly dancers, the ECS is going to give us a preview of 'School of Rock.' We have Doris Trobert and Kristy Phillips coming. We also have Kell and Del, which is a band. We have Garnet Ripplinger coming and a whole bunch of others."

"We have over 90 bid items," shared vice president, Elizabeth Pinel, "that you can call in or come down and bid on. You can view it online, there's pictures of them all."

All bid items are handmade by local people, including the large quilts.

"Estevan Diversified, one of our member agencies, donated some beautiful wood carvings that will spruce up your yard for Christmas," added Morhart.

Raffle tickets are also available.
