There'll be a few double takes from passersby as they go past the Fire Hall in the future, as they just may spot a fire truck sitting inside the main reception area.

It's not moving far, however, at least for now, as it's been acquired and is on display as a piece of Estevan Fire and Rescue's history.

"This was actually a fire truck that was in service for our fire department for a number of years, and it was then in secondary usage and then storage at the fire station," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser, "As the fire station grew, expanded and evolved, there wasn't enough room at the old fire hall to maintain that and provide space for it."

It was then handed over to the Souris Valley Museum, and they put it on display, while the City of Estevan still retain ownership of it.

"Once the new fire station came about, and we had the new showroom area to display it, we went about the process of recovering the fire engine and bringing it back."

People can stop by the fire hall anytime between regular office hours of 8-5 to view and tour the display.
