The new home for the Estevan Visitor's Centre is receiving some of its final touches before opening to the public.

The new location inside the Estevan Leisure Centre is tentatively expected to open on Monday, June 4th, pending construction work being completed.

"We're waiting on a door,"  explained Marketing Coordinator, Rebecca Westling. "Once we get that door installed, then we'll have a more definitive timeline. We're moving over to the Leisure Centre, right across from the weight room. We're really looking forward to that."

For Estevan residents and those travelling to experience the city this summer, the Visitor Centre will be open from 9 am – 5 pm, seven days a week until the end of August.

The decision to move from the Tourism Centre's location off highway 39 was made earlier this year by Estevan City Council.

"Some of the numbers have decreased over the years, in how people travel. We don't necessarily want to convert those travellers from the highway because they already have their plans usually. People who are in the city, use the Leisure Centre, we want to convert those people over to show them what Estevan has to offer."

The Visitor Centre will still have the same amenities as the other location with items for a gift shop, the location for energy tours and visitors can still get maps and brochures there.
