The legacy of Terry Fox lives on in Estevan as kids from schools all over the city participated in Terry Fox runs and walks throughout the month. And that included students at Westview School who held their walk this afternoon.

"It was awesome," shared Principal at Westview School, Cheri Haberstock. "It's always awesome. It's such a great opportunity for students to raise money and raise awareness for cancer research in this country. We all know it's the legacy of Terry Fox that they're carrying on. They just totally get into it and have fun doing it and they know that they're doing it for a really good reason."

Teachers have been in the classrooms sharing books and videos of Terry Fox leading up the walk today.

"So the children learn the reason behind what we do."

What made it even more special was a visit from Terry's brother Fred Fox earlier this month.

"He shared his message of what Terry meant to him and his personal experience with Terry."

The students held a hat day to raise money and collected $371 for cancer research.

"I'm very proud of them, as I always am."
