After getting a bit of a break from the smoke, westerly winds are bringing the haze back to the province for the weekend.

Environment Canada has re-issued that air quality advisory for a large portion of the province. Like before, forest fires in BC and Alberta are to blame, and so is the increasing winds Friday afternoon.

Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially affected by the haze and smoke.

A cold front approaching from Alberta will usher in more westerly winds later which should help flush out the smoke this Friday evening.
