The City of Estevan woke up on Monday morning to a bed of ice and snow after a winter storm covered much of the province on Sunday.

Over the course of Sunday's winter storm, Estevan received 7 cm of snow, while reports further east near the Manitoba border saw nearly 28 cm. Although there is an end in site, Estevan and south east Saskatchewan will have to endure one more day of unfavorable conditions, as a snow fall warning issued by Environment Canada continues to linger.

"There was a surge of warm air on Sunday with all the snow, there's just heavier snow expected on Monday and it won't be light fluffy snow that blows around," explained Environment Canada's, Brad Vrolijk. "Another wave of snow is going to lift northwards out of the Dakota's back into south eastern Saskatchewan. We're expecting another 5-10 cm to fall throughout the corner of the province Monday with another 2-4 expected on Monday night."

Tuesday will see clouds with a chance of flurries and a high of minus six, while the sun is expected to shine on Wednesday, with a daytime high of minus six.
