Nick Nielsen and myself we harassed a couple amazing residents in Estevan this morning, Frank Elberg being one of them.
He is one of those people who has been taught to go the extra mile, by helping out all of those people on his block. We met up with him while he was hard at work snow-plowing the street.
“A few older people live on the block, so I’ve been out here the last couple of days.”
He had been going for about an hour when we caught up with him and he had about half hour of work left to go.
We then headed down 4th street where we saw a few business owners clearing off the side-walk.
Brian Conquergood with Western Financial Group, “It’s my building, so according to city by-laws this is my responsibility. I’ve been doing it for 30 years, no reason to stop now.”
He reflected on last years storm, “This has really been the first big storm this year, considering what we moved last year. We are pretty lucky.”
This time last year we already had clean-up going strong throughout the city with the 83 cm from December and then had 31 cm dumped on top of that in March again. We are pretty lucky.
