A run of inflated COVID-19 cases continued throughout Saskatchewan today, and as has been the case for several weeks, the South East zone was not without its share of new cases. The difference was this time there were none in the Estevan area. 

Of the 15 cases reported in the South East today by the Saskatchewan Health Authority, 11 are in subzone South East 3, which includes Weyburn. Subzone South East 4, including Estevan, had no new cases and several recoveries today, so active cases in the area dropped to 32. In all, there are 139 active cases in the South East region. 

Elsewhere in the province, the SHA announced two more Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One was in their 70s in the Regina zone, while the other was over the age of 80 from the South West. 

There were 191 new cases of COVID-19 reported today for a total of 33,590. There were also 176 recoveries for a total of 31,199. There are 1955 active cases in the province at the moment. There are also 166 people hospitalized due to the virus. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 201. 

Today's new cases are located in the Far North East (1), North West (3), North Central (5), North East (3), Saskatoon (20), Central East (15), Regina (98), South West (6), South Central (20) and South East (15) zones. There are now over 1000 active cases in Regina. There are also five cases with pending residence information. 

The province saw a dramatic upswing in vaccinations yesterday as well, as they administered 8491 doses of vaccines for a total of 192,927. There were also 2978 COVID-19 tests administered in the province.
